Food guide to Bordeaux
The city of Bordeaux is home to one of Europe’s top interior and food stylists. Here Elodie Rambaud shares her favourite spots.
By Elodie Rambaud
The French port city of Bordeaux, flush with some of the oldest vineyards and most sought-after wines in the world, is so much more than an oenophile’s dream. It’s a watery maze of historic, cultural and artistic hotspots, where the tendrils of the Garonne River connect exemplary eateries and leading producers in France’s southwest pocket. Bordeaux resident Elodie Rambaud is one of Europe’s top interior and food stylists, and her keen eye has taken her from France to London and Sydney and beyond. She’s currently based in the Bordeaux region, where the surrounding agrarian communities and rich topography deliver fine wine and viticulture, Arcachon Bay oysters by the bucketful, and even France’s best bakery. Here, Elodie shares her favourite spots to dine and wine, which – thanks to a high-speed train system – are only a two-hour trip from downtown Paris.
